Section 71

一八三一年十二月一日，在俄亥俄，海蘭，給予先知約瑟 • 斯密和西德尼 • 雷格登的啟示〔教會史，1:238–239〕。先知繼續翻譯聖經，西德尼 • 雷格登作他的抄寫員，直到獲得本啟示。這時他們暫時擱下翻譯工作，以便完成本啟示中的指示。弟兄們要出去傳教，以緩和外界對教會產生的不友好的情緒；那是因為叛教的以斯拉 • 布司在報上發表的一些文章造成的。

Revelation given to Joseph Smith the Prophet and Sidney Rigdon, at Hiram, Ohio, 1 December 1831 (see History of the Church, 1:238–39). The Prophet had continued to translate the Bible with Sidney Rigdon as his scribe until this revelation was received, at which time it was temporarily laid aside so as to enable them to fulfill the instruction given herein. The brethren were to go forth to preach in order to allay the unfriendly feelings that had developed against the Church as a result of the publication of some newspaper articles by Ezra Booth, who had apostatized.

1 看啊，我僕人小約瑟 • 斯密和^ａ西德尼 • 雷格登，主對你們這樣說，時候確實到了，我認為你們確實需要張開你們的口，如我所要的，按照那將給你們的那部分的靈和能力，^ｂ傳播我的福音，即國度的事，引用經文解說其中的^ｃ奧祕。

1 Behold, thus saith the Lord unto you my servants Joseph Smith, Jun., and Sidney Rigdon, that the time has verily come that it is necessary and expedient in me that you should open your mouths in ^aproclaiming my gospel, the things of the kingdom, expounding the ^bmysteries thereof out of the scriptures, according to that portion of Spirit and power which shall be given unto you, even as I will.

2 我實在告訴你們，要在附近地區和教會中，向世人傳播福音一段時期，直到將來讓你們知道的時候。

2 Verily I say unto you, proclaim unto the world in the regions round about, and in the church also, for the space of a season, even until it shall be ^amade known unto you.

3 這實在是我給你們的一個短期任務。

3 Verily this is a mission for a season, which I give unto you.

4 因此，你們要在我葡萄園中工作。向大地居民呼籲、作見證，並為將要來到的誡命和啟示預備道路。

4 Wherefore, ^alabor ye in my vineyard. Call upon the inhabitants of the earth, and bear record, and prepare the way for the commandments and revelations which are to come.

5 現在，看啊，這就是智慧；凡閱讀的，都要^ａ明白並且^ｂ接受；

5 Now, behold this is wisdom; whoso readeth, let him^aunderstand and ^breceive also;

6 因為凡接受的，將更^ａ豐盛地加給他，甚至能力。

6 For unto him that receiveth it shall be given more ^aabundantly, even power.

7 因此，^ａ將你們的敵人駁倒；籲請他們公開和私下^ｂ會見你們；只要你們忠信，他們的羞愧必顯露。

7 Wherefore, ^aconfound your ^benemies; call upon them to ^cmeetyou both in public and in private; and inasmuch as ye are faithful their ^dshame shall be made manifest.

8 因此，讓他們提出反對主的強烈理由。

8 Wherefore, let them bring forth their ^astrong reasons against the Lord.

9 主實在這樣告訴你們──凡^ａ為攻擊你們而造的武器，沒有一樣能成功；

9 Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you—there is no ^aweapon that is formed against you shall prosper;

10 而且無論誰提高聲音反對你們，都必在我認為適當的時候挫敗。

10 And if any man lift his voice against you he shall be^aconfounded in mine own due time.

11 因此，遵守我的誡命；那些誡命是真實可靠的。正如這樣。阿們。

11 Wherefore, ^akeep my commandments; they are true and faithful. Even so. Amen.
