Revelation given through Joseph Smith the Prophet to the Church, at Kirtland, Ohio, 8 March 1831 (see History of the Church, 1:163–65). In this early time of the Church, a unified pattern for the conducting of Church services had not yet developed. However, a custom of admitting only members and earnest investigators to the sacrament meetings and other assemblies of the Church had become somewhat general. This revelation expresses the will of the Lord relative to governing and conducting meetings.
1–2，長老要依照神聖之靈的指引主持聚會；3–6，不應將追求真理的人摒除在聖餐聚會之外；7–12，祈求神並尋求靈的恩賜；13–26，列舉部分恩賜；27–33，教會領袖獲得能力辨別靈的恩賜。
1–2, Elders are to conduct meetings as guided by the Holy Spirit; 3–6, Truth seekers should not be excluded from sacramental services; 7–12, Ask of God and seek the gifts of the Spirit; 13–26, An enumeration of some of these gifts is given; 27–33, Church leaders are given power to discern the gifts of the Spirit.
1 聽啊，我教會的人民啊；我實在告訴你們，告訴你們這些事，是為了你們的ａ益處和知識 。
1 Hearken, O ye people of my church; for verily I say unto you that these things were spoken unto you for your aprofit and learning.
2 但是，不論以前記載的那些事情怎麼說，我教會的ａ長老，從太初起，一直都將被吩咐要依照神聖之靈的指導和引領，ｂ主持所有的聚會。
2 But notwithstanding those things which are written, it always has been given to the aelders of my church from the beginning, and ever shall be, to bconduct all meetings as they are directed and guided by the Holy Spirit.
3 然而你們被命令，絕不可將任何人從你們在世人面前舉行的公開聚會中ａ逐出。
3 Nevertheless ye are commanded never to acast any one out from your public bmeetings, which are held before the world.
4 你們也被命令，不可將屬於ａ教會的任何人從你們的聖餐聚會中逐出；然而，如果有人犯罪，在他作調解以前，ｂ不要讓他領受聖餐。
4 Ye are also commanded not to cast any one who belongeth to the church out of your sacrament meetings; nevertheless, if any have trespassed, let him anot bpartake until he makes reconciliation.
5 我再告訴你們，你們不可將任何認真尋求國度的人從聖餐聚會中逐出──我指的是那些不屬教會的人。
5 And again I say unto you, ye shall not cast any out of your sacrament meetings who are earnestly aseeking the kingdom—I speak this concerning those who are not of the church.
6 我再告訴你們，至於你們的ａ證實聚會，如有任何不屬教會，但認真尋求國度的人，你們不可將他們逐出。
6 And again I say unto you, concerning your aconfirmationmeetings, that if there be any that are not of the church, that are earnestly seeking after the kingdom, ye shall not cast them out.
7 但是你們被命令凡事都要ａ求那厚賜的神；而且凡是靈向你們見證的事，就是我要你們用完全ｂ聖潔的心去做的事，在我面前正直行走，ｃ思量你們救恩的結果，用禱告和ｄ感恩做一切的事，好使你們不致為惡靈、ｅ魔鬼的道理或人的ｆ吩咐ｇ所惑；因為有的是出於人的，有的是來自魔鬼的。
7 But ye are commanded in all things to aask of God, who giveth liberally; and that which the Spirit testifies unto you even so I would that ye should do in all bholiness of heart, walking uprightly before me, cconsidering the end of your salvation, doing all things with prayer and dthanksgiving, that ye may not beeseduced by evil fspirits, or doctrines of devils, or thegcommandments of men; for some are of men, and others of devils.
8 因此，要小心，以免受騙；為了避免受騙，你們要認真ａ尋求那些最好的恩賜，一直記住給予那些恩賜的目的；
8 Wherefore, beware lest ye are deceived; and that ye may not be deceived aseek ye earnestly the best gifts, always remembering for what they are given;
9 我實在告訴你們，那些恩賜是為了那些愛我、遵守我一切誡命和努力這樣做的人的益處而給予的；要讓所有尋求我或向我祈求的人，不祈求ａ神蹟以ｂ逞私慾的人得益處。
9 For verily I say unto you, they are given for the benefit of those who love me and keep all my commandments, and him that seeketh so to do; that all may be benefited that seek or that ask of me, that ask and not for a asign that they may bconsume it upon their lusts.
10 還有，我實在告訴你們，我要你們一直記得，一直牢記在ａ心：那些給教會的ｂ恩賜是什麼。
10 And again, verily I say unto you, I would that ye should always remember, and always retain in your aminds what thosebgifts are, that are given unto the church.
11 因為不是所有的人都能獲得每種恩賜；因為恩賜有很多種，ａ每個人都由神的靈給予一種恩賜。
11 For all have not every agift given unto them; for there are many gifts, and to every man is given a gift by the Spirit of God.
12 有人獲得某一種，有人獲得另一種，好使所有的人因此受益。
12 To some is given one, and to some is given another, that all may be profited thereby.
13 有的人藉著聖靈得到的，是ａ知道耶穌基督是神的兒子，祂為了世人的罪被釘死在十字架上。
13 To some it is given by the aHoly Ghost to know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that he was crucified for the sins of the world.
14 其他的人得到的，是ａ相信他們的話，他們若繼續忠信，也能享有永生。
14 To others it is given to abelieve on their words, that they also might have eternal life if they continue faithful.
15 還有，有的人藉著聖靈得到的，是知道ａ管理的不同，那是按照主的旨意，和同一位主喜悅的方式；主會按照人類兒女的情況，而給予仁慈。
15 And again, to some it is given by the Holy Ghost to know theadifferences of administration, as it will be pleasing unto the same Lord, according as the Lord will, suiting his bmerciesaccording to the conditions of the children of men.
16 還有，有的人藉著聖靈得到的，是知道運作的不同是否屬神的，好使靈的顯示臨到每個人，叫人得益處。
16 And again, it is given by the Holy Ghost to some to know the diversities of operations, whether they be of God, that the manifestations of the aSpirit may be given to every man to profit withal.
17 還有，我實在告訴你們，有的人藉著神的靈獲得ａ智慧的言語。
17 And again, verily I say unto you, to some is given, by the Spirit of God, the word of awisdom.
18 其他的人獲得ａ知識的言語，好使所有的人被教導成聰明而有知識。
18 To another is given the word of aknowledge, that all may be taught to be wise and to have knowledge.
19 還有，有些人獲得被治癒的ａ信心；
19 And again, to some it is given to have afaith to be healed;
20 其他的人獲得ａ治癒人的信心；
20 And to others it is given to have faith to aheal.
21 還有，有些人得到的是行ａ奇蹟；
21 And again, to some is given the working of amiracles;
22 其他的人得到的是ａ說預言的恩賜；
22 And to others it is given to aprophesy;
23 其他的人能ａ辨別諸靈。
23 And to others the adiscerning of spirits.
24 還有，有些人得到的是ａ說方言；
24 And again, it is given to some to speak with atongues;
25 別的人得到的是翻譯方言。
25 And to another is given the interpretation of tongues.
26 And all these agifts come from God, for the benefit of thebchildren of God.
27 教會的ａ主教，和神將指定並按立來看顧教會並作教會長老的人，會獲得ｂ辨別那一切恩賜的恩賜，免得你們中間有任何人自稱是屬神的卻不是屬神的。
27 And unto the abishop of the church, and unto such as God shall appoint and ordain to watch over the church and to be elders unto the church, are to have it given unto them to bdiscernall those gifts lest there shall be any among you professing and yet be not of God.
28 事情將是這樣，凡在ａ靈中求的將在靈中獲得；
28 And it shall come to pass that he that asketh in aSpirit shall receive in Spirit;
29 有的人會獲得所有那些恩賜，這樣才有人為首，好讓每位教友得益處。
29 That unto some it may be given to have all those gifts, that there may be a head, in order that every member may be profited thereby.
30 凡在ａ靈中ｂ求的，就是按照ｃ神的旨意求，所以就如他所求的成就。
30 He that aasketh in the bSpirit asketh according to the cwill of God; wherefore it is done even as he asketh.
31 還有，我告訴你們，無論你們在靈中做什麼事，都必須奉基督的名去做；
31 And again, I say unto you, all things must be done in the name of Christ, whatsoever you do in the Spirit;
32 而且無論你們蒙得什麼祝福，都必須在靈中ａ感謝神。
32 And ye must give athanks unto God in the Spirit for whatsoever blessing ye are blessed with.
33 而你們必須不斷在我面前實踐ａ美德和ｂ聖潔。正如這樣。阿們。
33 And ye must practise avirtue and holiness before me continually. Even so. Amen.
