01-10

1My dear brothers and sisters, I have prayed for the power to help you in your personal search for happiness.

1 Wǒ qīn ài de dìxiōng jiěmèi, wǒ yǐ qíqiú néng zài nǐmen qīnzì zhuīqiú xìngfú shí, yǒu lìliàng zhù nǐmen yībìzhīlì.

2Some might feel happy enough already, yet surely no one would reject the offer of more happiness.

2 Yǒuxiē rén kěnéng juédé zìjǐ yǐjīng gòu xìngfúle, bùguò xiǎngbì méiyǒu rén huì jùjué huòdé gèng duō de xìngfú.

3Anyone would be eager to accept a guaranteed offer of lasting happiness.

3 Měi gèrén dōu kěwàng néng huòdé bǎozhèng, dédào yǒngjiǔ de xìngfú.

4That is what Heavenly Father; His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ; and the Holy Ghost have offered every spirit child of Heavenly Father who now lives, will live, or ever has lived in this world.

4 Tiān fù hé tā de àizǐ yēsū jīdū yǐjí shènglíng suǒ cìyǔ de, jiùshì zhè fèn yǒngjiǔ de xìngfú, qiě yǐ cì gěi tā měi yīgè xiànzài, jiānglái, yìhuò shì guòqù lái dào zhè shìjiè jūzhù de líng tǐ háizi.

5That offer is sometimes called the plan of happiness.

5 Tāmen suǒ cìyǔ de yǒu shí yòu chēng xìngfú jì huà.

6It was so called by the prophet Alma as he taught his son, who was mired in the misery of sin.

6 Xiānzhī ā'ěr mǎ zài jiàodǎo tā nà wèi shēn xiàn zuì'è cǎn kuàng de ér zǐ shí, shì zhèyàng chēnghu nàgè jì huà de.

7Alma knew that wickedness could never be happiness for his son—or for any child of Heavenly Father.

7 Ā'ěr mǎ zhīdào, duì tā de érzi——huò tiān fù de rènhé yīgè háizi lái shuō, xié è jué fēi xìngfú.

8He taught his son that increasing in holiness was the only path to happiness.

8 Tā jiàodǎo tā de érzi, shǐ zìjǐ yuè lái yuè shèngjié cái shì tōng wǎng xìngfú de wéiyī dàolù.

9He made it plain that greater holiness is made possible through the Atonement of Jesus Christ cleansing and perfecting us.

9 Tā qīngchǔ zhǐchū, wǒmen tòuguò yēsū jīdū de shúzuì dédào jiéjìng hé xiūzào, cái yǒu kěnéng gèngjiā shèngjié.

10Only by faith in Jesus Christ, continuing repentance, and keeping covenants are we able to claim the lasting happiness we all yearn to experience and retain.

10 Wéi yǒu kàozhe duì yēsū jīdū de xìnxīn, bùduàn de huǐgǎi, zūnshǒu shèng yuē, wǒmen dàjiā cáinéng qǔdé xīnzhōng kěwàng tǐyàn bìng liú zhù de yǒngjiǔ xìngfú.

11-19

11My prayer for today is that I may help you understand that greater happiness comes from greater personal holiness so that you will act upon that belief.

11Wǒ qíqiú jīntiān néng bāngzhù gèwèi liǎojiě, ruò yào gèngjiā xìngfú, gèrén jiù yào gèngjiā shèngjié; bìng ràng gèwèi kuài ànzhe zhège xìnniàn cǎiqǔ xíngdòng.

12I will then share what I know for myself about what we can do to qualify for that gift of becoming ever more holy.

12Yīncǐ wǒ yào fēnxiǎng wǒ qīnshēn dé zhī wǒmen néng zuò shénme, shǐ zìjǐ yǒu zīgé huòdé nà fèn ràng zìjǐ biàn dé wúbǐ shèngjié de ēncì.

13The scriptures teach us that among other things, we can be sanctified or become more holy when we exercise faith in Christ, demonstrate our obedience, repent, sacrifice for Him, receive sacred ordinances, and keep our covenants with Him.

13Xiān bù shuō bié de, guāng shì jīng wén jiù jiàodǎo wǒmen xǔduō kěyǐ shèng huà zìjǐ, shǐ zìjǐ biàn dé gèngjiā shèngjié de fāngfǎ, xiàng shì yùnyòng duì jīdū de xìnxīn, zhǎnshì wǒmen de fúcóng, huǐgǎi, wèi shén xīshēng fèngxiàn, jiēshòu shénshèng jiào yí, yǐjí zūnshǒu yǔ shén suǒ lì de shèng yuē.

14Qualifying for the gift of holiness requires humility, meekness, and patience.

14Yào huòdé shèngjié zhè xiàng ēncì de zīgé, xūyào qiānbēi, wēnshùn he nàixīn.

15One experience of wanting more holiness came for me in the Salt Lake Temple.

15Wǒ kěwàng biàn dé gèngjiā shèngjié de yīgè jīngyàn, fāshēng zài yánhú shèng diàn.

16I entered the temple for the first time having been told little of what to expect.

16Wǒ dì yī cì jìn shèng diàn de shíhòu, jīhū méiyǒu rén gàosù wǒ gāi qídài shénme.

17I had seen the words on the building: “Holiness to the Lord” and “The House of the Lord.”

17Wǒ yǐqián zài shèng diàn wài kànguò `guī zhǔ wèi shèng'hé `zhǔ de diàn'zhè jǐ gè zì.

18I felt a great sense of anticipation.

18Wǒ yǒuyī gǔ qiángliè qídài de gǎnjué

19Yet I wondered if I was prepared to enter.

19Dàn yě huáiyí zìjǐ shìfǒu yǐ zhǔnbèi hǎo jìnqù.

20-30

20My mother and father walked ahead of me as we entered the temple.

20Zǒu jìn shèng diàn de shíhòu, fùqīn mǔqīn zǒu zài wǒ de qiántou.

21We were asked to show our recommends, certifying our worthiness.

21Wǒmen bèi yāoqiú chūshì tuījiàn shū, lái zhèngmíng wǒmen pèi chēng.

22My parents knew the man at the recommend desk.

22Wǒ de fùmǔ rènshí zài tuījiàn shū guìtái dì nà gèrén.

23So they lingered a moment to speak with him.

23Suǒyǐ tāmen shāowéi dòuliúle yīxià, gēn tā shuōhuà.

24I went ahead alone into a large space where everything was sparkling white.

24Yúshì wǒ jiù zìjǐ yīgèrén zǒu jìn yīgè hěn dà dì dìfāng, nàlǐ měi yàng dōngxī dū shǎn liàng jiébái.

25I looked up at a ceiling so high above me it seemed an open sky.

25Wǒ táitóu wàngzhe shàngfāng gāo gāo de tiānhuābǎn, tiānhuābǎn fǎngfú guǎngkuò de tiānkōng.

26In that moment, a clear impression came to me that I had been there before.

26Zài nà shùnjiān, yǒu gè qīngxī de niàntou líndào wǒ shēnshang, wǒ xiānqián céngjīng láiguò zhèlǐ.

27But then, I heard a very soft voice—it was not my own.

27Dàn wǒ jiēzhe tīngdào yīgè fēicháng qīngróu de shēngyīn——bùshì wǒ zìjǐ de shēngyīn.

28The softly spoken words were these: “You have never been here before.

28Nà qīngróu de shēngyīn shuō:`Nǐ cónglái méiyǒu láiguò zhèlǐ.

29You are remembering a moment before you were born.

29Nǐ xiànzài xiǎngqǐ de, shì nǐ chūshēng qián de yīgè piànkè.

30You were in a sacred place like this.

30Nà shí nǐ zài yīgè shénshèng dì dìfāng, jiù xiàng zhèlǐ yīyàng.

31-39

31You felt the Savior was about to come into the place where you stood.

31Nǐ nà shí gǎnjué jiù zhǔ jiù yào lái dào nǐ suǒ zhàn dì dìfāng,

32And you felt happiness because you were eager to see Him.”

32Nǐ dāngshí gǎndào xìngfú, yīnwèi nǐ jíqiè de xiǎng jiàn dào tā.'

33That experience in the Salt Lake Temple lasted only a moment.

33Zài yánhú shèng diàn dì nàgè jīngyàn, suīrán zhǐyǒu piànkè.

34Yet the memory of it still brings peace, joy, and quiet happiness.

34Dàn měi cìhuí xiǎngqǐ zhè jiàn shì shí, réng dài lái píng'ān, xǐlè, yǐjí ānjìng de xìngfú.

35I learned many lessons that day.

35Wǒ nèitiān xué dào xǔduō de jiàoxùn.

36One was that the Holy Ghost speaks in a still, small voice.

36Qízhōng yīgè jiùshì shènglíng yǐ wéixiǎo de shēngyīn shuōhuà.

37I can hear Him when there is spiritual peace in my heart.

37Dāng wǒ xīnzhōng yǒu shǔ líng de píng'ān, jiù néng tīngjiàn tā.

38He brings a feeling of happiness and assurance that I am becoming more holy.

38Tā dài lái xìngfú hé quèdìng de gǎnjué, ràng wǒ zhīdào zìjǐ zhèng biàn dé gèngjiā shèngjié.

39And that always brings the happiness I felt in those first moments in a temple of God.

39Ér nàyàng de gǎnjué, zǒng shì dài gěi wǒ dì yī cì jìnrù shén de diàn shí, suǒ huòdé de xìngfú gǎnshòu.

40-48

40You have observed in your own life and in the lives of others the miracle of happiness coming from growing holiness, becoming more like the Savior.

40Nǐ zài zìjǐ hé biérén de shēnghuó zhōng, dōu kànguò yīnwèi gèngjiā shèngjié, biàn dé gèng xiàng jiù zhǔ, suǒ dédào de xìngfú qíjī.

41In recent weeks, I have been at the bedside of people who could face death with full faith in the Savior and with happy countenances.

41Zuìjìn jǐ zhōu, wǒ qù bàifǎng yīxiē wòbìng zài chuáng de rén, tāmen duì jiù zhǔ chōngmǎn xìnxīn, dàizhe yúkuài de miànróng miàn duì sǐwáng.

42One was a man surrounded by his family.

42Qízhōng yī wèi shìgè nánshì, tā de jiārén wéirào zài páng.

43He and his wife were chatting quietly as my son and I entered.

43Wǒ hé wǒ érzi jìnqù de shíhòu, tā hé tā de qīzi zhèngzài qīngshēng liáotiān.

44I had known them for many years.

44Wǒ rènshí tāmen hǎoduō niánle.

45I had seen the Atonement of Jesus Christ work in their lives and in the lives of their family members.

45Wǒ kàn dào yēsū jīdū de shúzuì zài tāmen hé tāmen jiārén de shēnghuó zhōng chǎnshēng gōngxiào.

46They had together chosen to end medical efforts to prolong his life.

46Tāmen yǐ yītóng xuǎnzé tíngzhǐ zhìliáo, bù zài yánxù tā de shēngmìng.

47There was a quiet feeling as he spoke to us.

47Tā gēn wǒmen shuōhuà de shíhòu, xiànchǎng yǒu gǔ píngjìng de gǎnjué.

48He smiled as he expressed gratitude for the gospel and its purifying effects on him and the family he loved.

48Tā miàn dài xiàoróng, biǎodá duì fúyīn de gǎnxiè, gǎnxiè fúyīn cuì liànle tā hé tāsuǒ ài de jiārén.

49-57

49He spoke of his happy years of service in the temple.

49Tā tán dào tā zài shèng diàn fúwù shí de kuàilè shíguāng.

50At this man’s request, my son anointed his head with consecrated oil.

50Zài tā de qǐngqiú xià, wǒ de érzi yòng shèng huà gāo yóu gāo mǒle tā de tóu;

50在他的請求下,我的兒子用聖化膏油膏抹了他的頭;

51I sealed the anointing.

51Wǒ zé yìnzhèngle nà gāo mǒ.

52As I did, I had a clear impression to tell him that he would soon see his Savior, face-to-face.

52Wǒ zài nàyàng zuò de shíhòu, qīngchǔ gǎnjué dào yào duì tā shuō, tā hěn kuài jiù yào gēn tā de jiù zhǔ miànduìmiàn xiàng jiàn.

53I promised him that he would feel happiness, love, and the Savior’s approval.

53Wǒ yīngxǔ tā huì gǎnjué dào xìngfú, ài hé jiù zhǔ de rènkě.

54He smiled warmly as we left.

54Wǒmen líkāi shí, tā miàn lù wēnnuǎn de xiàoróng.

55His last words to me were “Tell Kathy I love her.”

55Tā duì wǒ shuō de zuìhòu yījù huà shì:`Gàosù kǎisèlín, wǒ ài tā.'

56My wife, Kathleen, over many years had encouraged generations of his family to accept the Savior’s invitation to come unto Him, make and keep sacred covenants, and so qualify for the happiness that comes as a result of that greater holiness.

56Duōnián lái, wǒ de qīzi kǎisèlín yīzhí gǔlì tā jiātíng de hòudài zǐsūn jiēshòu jiù zhǔ de yāoqǐng, qù gēncóng tā, dìnglì bìng zūnshǒu shèng yuē, zhèyàng cáinéng yǒu zīgé huòdé yīnwèi gèngjiā shèngjié ér lái dào de xìngfú.

57He died hours later.

57Jǐ gè xiǎoshí hòu, tā líkāile rénshì.

58-63

58Within weeks of his passing, his widow brought a gift to my wife and me.

58Tā guòshì jǐ zhōu hòu, tā de yíshuāng dàile yī fèn lǐwù lái gěi wǒ hé wǒ de qīzi.

59She smiled as we talked.

59Wǒmen yībiān liáotiān, tā yībiān xiàozhe,

60She said pleasantly, “I expected that I would feel sad and lonely.

60Yúyuè de shuō:`Wǒ yuán yǐwéi wǒ huì gǎndào bēishāng hé jìmò.

61I feel so happy. Do you think that’s all right?”

61Jiéguǒ què gǎnjué fēicháng xìngfú. Nǐmen juédé zhèyàng méi wèntí ma?'

62Knowing how much she loved her husband and how both of them had come to know, love, and serve the Lord, I told her that her feelings of happiness were a promised gift because she had, by her faithful service, been made more holy.

62Wǒ zhīdào tā fēicháng shēn ài tā de zhàngfū, yě zhīdào tāmen fūqī liǎ guòqù fēicháng nǔlì qù rènshí zhǔ, ài zhǔ, wéi zhǔ fúwù, suǒyǐ wǒ gàosù tā, tā dì nà fèn xìngfú gǎn shì shén suǒ yīngxǔ de yī xiàng ēncì, yīnwèi shén yǐ jízhe tā zhōngxìn de fúwù, shǐ tā gèngjiā shèngjié.

63Her holiness had qualified her for that happiness.

63Tā de shèngjié ràng tā yǒu zīgé huòdé nà zhǒng xìngfú.

64-70

64Some listening today may be wondering: “Why do I not feel the peace and happiness promised to those who have been faithful?

64Jīntiān zàizuò de yīxiē tīngzhòng kěnéng huì wèn:`Wèishéme wǒ méiyǒu dédào yīngxǔ gěi zhōngxìn zhě dì nà zhǒng píng'ān hé xìngfú gǎnjué?

65I have been faithful through terrible adversity, but I don’t feel happiness.”

65Wǒ jīnglìguò kěpà de nìjìng, yě yīzhí bǎochí zhōngxìn, dàn què méiyǒu xìngfú de gǎnjué.'

66Even the Prophet Joseph Smith faced this test.

66Jíshǐ shì xiānzhī yuē sè·sī mì yě miànlínguò zhè zhǒng kǎoyàn.

67He prayed for relief when he was confined in a jail in Liberty, Missouri.

67Tā bèi qiújìn zài mìsūlǐ lì bó de jiānyù de shíhòu, céng dǎogào qíqiú huòdé bāngzhù.

68He had been faithful to the Lord. He had grown in holiness.

68Tā duì zhǔ yīzhí dōu hěn zhōngxìn, yě yù fā shèngjié.

69Yet he felt happiness had been denied.

69Dàn què juédé xìngfú lí tā hěn yáoyuǎn.

70The Lord taught him the lesson of patience we all will need at some time, and perhaps for long periods, in our mortal testing.

70Zhǔ jiàodǎole tā yǒuguān nàixīn de yī kè, nà shì wǒmen měi gèrén zài jīnshēng zhè duàn kǎoyàn qíjiān, yǒu shí xūyào, shènhuò shì chángqí dōu xūyào de.

71-76

71Here is the Lord’s message to His faithful and suffering prophet:

71Yǐxià shì zhǔ gěi tā zhè wèi zhōngxìn dàn shòukǔ de xiānzhī de xìnxī:

72“And if thou shouldst be cast into the pit, or into the hands of murderers, and the sentence of death passed upon thee; if thou be cast into the deep; if the billowing surge conspire against thee;if fierce winds become thine enemy; if the heavens gather blackness, and all the elements combine to hedge up the way;

72`Rúguǒ nǐ bèi diū dào kēng lǐ huò xiōngshǒu de shǒuzhōng, bìng bèi pàn sǐxíng; rúguǒ nǐ bèi diū jìn shēnyuān lǐ; rúguǒ xiōngyǒng de bōtāo xiǎng yào móuhài nǐ; rúguǒ kuángfēng yǔ nǐ wèi dí; rúguǒ zhū tiān jù qǐ hēi'àn, yīqiè yuánsù dōu liánhé qǐlái zǔdǎng qùlù;

72「如果你被丟到坑裡或兇手的手中,並被判死刑;如果你被丟進深淵裡;如果洶湧的波濤想要謀害你;如果狂風與你為敵;如果諸天聚起黑暗,一切元素都聯合起來阻擋去路;

73and above all, if the very jaws of hell shall gape open the mouth wide after thee, know thou, my son, that all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good.

73Yóuqí shì, rúguǒ dìyù de kǒu yě xiàng nǐ zhāngdà zuǐbā yào tūnmò nǐ, wǒ de er a, nǐ yào zhīdào, zhè yīqiè shìqíng dōu jiāng gěi nǐ jīngyàn, duì nǐ yǒu yìchu.

74“The Son of Man hath descended below them all. Art thou greater than he?

74`Rén zǐ céng jiàngxià dī yú zhè yīqiè, nǐ bǐ tā gèng wěidà ma?

75“Therefore, hold on thy way, and the priesthood shall remain with thee; for their bounds are set, they cannot pass.

75`Suǒyǐ, chí shǒu nǐ de dào, shèngzhí bì liú zài nǐ shēnshang; tāmen de jièxiàn yǐ dìng, tāmen bùnéng yuèguò.

76Thy days are known, and thy years shall not be numbered less;therefore, fear not what man can do, for God shall be with you forever and ever.”

76Nǐ de rìzi shì zhīdào de, nǐ de nián shǔ bù huì shǎo; suǒyǐ, bùyào pàrén suǒ néng zuò de, yīnwèi shén bì yǔ nǐ tóng zài, yǒng yǒngyuǎn yuǎn.'

77-90

77That was the same instructive lesson the Lord gave Job, who paid a heavy price to allow the Atonement to make him more holy.

77Zhǔ yě gěi yuē bó tóngyàng de jiàodǎo, yuē bó fùchū cǎntòng de dàijià, cái shǐdé shúzuì néng ràng tā biàn dé gèngjiā shèngjié.

78We know that Job was holy, from the introduction we have of him: “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.”

78Cóng jīng wén duì yuē bó de jièshào, wǒmen zhīdào tā shì shèngjié de:`Wū sī dì yǒuyī gèrén míng jiào yuē bó; nà rén wánquán zhèngzhí, jìngwèi shén, yuǎnlí è shì.'

79Then Job lost his wealth, his family, and even his health.

79Jiēzhe yuē bó shīqù cáifù, jiārén, shènzhì gèrén de jiànkāng.

80You might remember that Job doubted that his greater holiness, gained through greater adversity, had qualified him for greater happiness.

80Nǐmen huòxǔ jìdé, yuē bó céng huáiyí zìjǐ zài jīnglì jiào dà de nìjìng, chéngwéi gèngjiā shèngjié hòu, shìfǒu jiù ràng tā yǒu zīgé huòdé gèng dà de xìngfú.

81It seemed to Job that holiness had brought misery.

81Yīnwèi zài yuē bó kàn lái, shèngjié sìhū dài lái liǎo bùxìng.

82Yet the Lord gave Job the same correcting lesson He gave Joseph Smith.

82Dàn zhǔ gěi yuē bó yīgè jiǎozhèng de kèchéng, jiù xiàng tā duì yuē sè·sī mì nàyàng.

83He let Job see his heartbreaking situation with spiritual eyes. He said:

83Tā ràng yuē bó yòng língxìng de yǎnguāng, lái kàndài zìjǐ xīntòng yù liè de qíngkuàng. Tā shuō:

84“Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

84`Nǐ yào rú yǒngshì shù yāo; wǒ wèn nǐ, nǐ kěyǐ zhǐshì wǒ.

85“Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

86“Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

86`Nǐ ruò xiǎodé jiù shuō, shì shuí dìng dì de chǐdù? Shì shuí bǎ zhǔnshéng lā zài qí shàng?

87“Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;

87`Dì de gēnjī ānzhì zài hé chù? Dì de jiǎoshí shì shuí ānfàng de?

88“When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?”

88`Nà shí, chénxīng yītóng gēchàng; shén de zhòng zi yě dū huānhū.'

89Then, after Job repented of calling God unfair, Job was permitted to see his trials in a higher and holier way.

89Yuē bó céng zhǐchēn shén bù gōngpíng, zài tā wèi cǐ huǐgǎi hòu, shén ràng tā yòng yīzhǒng gèng chónggāo, gèng shèngjié de fāngshì, lái kàndài zìjǐ de kǎoyàn.

90He had repented.

90Tā quèshí huǐgǎile.

91-101

91“Then Job answered the Lord, and said,

91`Yuē bó huídá yēhéhuá shuō:

92“I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.

92`Wǒ zhīdào, nǐ wànshì dōu néng zuò; nǐ de zhǐyì bùnéng lánzǔ.

93“Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

94“Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

94`Qiú nǐ tīng wǒ, wǒ yào shuōhuà; wǒ wèn nǐ, qiú nǐ zhǐshì wǒ.

95“I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.

95`Qiú nǐ tīng wǒ, wǒ yào shuōhuà; wǒ wèn nǐ, qiú nǐ zhǐshì wǒ.

96“Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.”

96`Yīncǐ wǒ yànwù zìjǐ, zài chéntǔ hé lú huī zhōng àohuǐ.'

97After Job repented and so became more holy, the Lord blessed him beyond all he had lost.

97Yuē bó yīn huǐgǎi ér biàn dé gèngjiā shèngjié hòu, zhǔ suǒ cì de zhùfú, yuǎn chāoguò tā zhīqián suǒ shīqù de yīqiè.

98But perhaps the greatest blessing for Job was to have increased in holiness through adversity and repentance.

98Dàn huòxǔ duì yuē bó lái shuō, zuìdà de zhùfú shì tòuguò nìjìng hé huǐgǎi, biàn dé yuè lái yuè shèngjié.

99He was qualified to have greater happiness in the days he had yet to live.

99Tā zài yǒushēngzhīnián, yǒu zīgé huòdé gèng dà de xìngfú.

100Greater holiness will not come simply by asking for it.

100Dān kào qíqiú, suǒwèi gèngjiā shèngjié bìng bù huì lái dào;

100單靠祈求,所謂更加聖潔並不會來到;

101It will come by doing what is needed for God to change us.

101Qù zuò suǒyǒu bìyào de shì, ràng shén lái gǎibiàn wǒmen, tā cái huì lái dào.

102-110

102President Russell M. Nelson has given what seems to me the best counsel of how to move along the covenant path to greater holiness.

102Zài wǒ kàn lái, guānyú rúhé zài shèng yuē de dàolù shàng jìnbù, biàn dé gèngjiā shèngjié, luósù·nà'ěrxùn huìzhǎng yǐ gěi chū zuì hǎo de zhōnggào.

103He pointed the way when he urged:

103Tā zài zhǐchū nà tiáo dàolù shí, dūncù wǒmen shuō:

104“Experience the strengthening power of daily repentance—of doing and being a little better each day.

104`Tǐyàn měitiān huǐgǎi de qiánghuà lìliàng; tǐyàn měitiān dū zuò dé gèng hǎo yīdiǎn, biàn dé gèng hǎo yīdiǎn.

105“When we choose to repent, we choose to change! We allow the Savior to transform us into the best version of ourselves.

105`Dāng wǒmen xuǎnzé huǐgǎi, jiùshì xuǎnzé gǎibiàn! Wǒmen ràng jiù zhǔ bǎ wǒmen biànchéng zuì hǎo de zìjǐ.

106We choose to grow spiritually and receive joy—the joy of redemption in Him.

106Wǒmen xuǎnzé zài língxìng shàng chéngzhǎng, huòdé xǐlè——yīn tā de jiùshú ér xǐlè.

107When we choose to repent, we choose to become more like Jesus Christ!”

107Dāng wǒmen xuǎnzé huǐgǎi, jiùshì xuǎnzé biàn dé gèng xiàng yēsū jīdū!'

108President Nelson went on to give us this encouragement in our efforts to become holier: “The Lord does not expect perfection from us at this point. …

108Zài wǒmen nǔlì biàn dé gèngjiā shèngjié shí, nà'ěrxùn huìzhǎng jiēzhe zhèyàng gǔlì wǒmen:`Zhǔ bìng méiyǒu qīwàng wǒmen zài……cǐ shí cǐkè, jiù chéngwéi wánquán.

109But He does expect us to become increasingly pure.

109Dàn tā quèshí qīwàng wǒmen biàn dé yù lái yù chúnjié.

110Daily repentance is the pathway to purity.”

110Měitiān huǐgǎi shì tōng wǎng chúnjié de tújìng.'

111-117

111President Dallin H. Oaks, in an earlier conference address, also helped me see more clearly how we grow in holiness and how we can know we are moving toward it.

111Dá lín·wū kèsī huìzhǎng zài jiào zǎoqí de yīchǎng dàhuì jiǎng cí, yě bāngzhù wǒ gèng qīngchǔ liǎojiě, wǒmen yào rúhé biàn dé gèngjiā shèngjié, yǐjí wǒmen yào rúhé zhīdào zìjǐ zhèng cháozhe shèngjié màijìn.

112He said: “How do we achieve spirituality?

112Tā shuō:`Wǒmen yào rúhé huòdé língxìng?

113How do we attain that degree of holiness where we can have the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost?

113Rúhé dádào yǒu shènglíng jīngcháng wèi bàn de shèngjié chéngdù?

114How do we come to view and evaluate things of this world with the perspective of eternity?”

114Rúhé yǐ yǒnghéng de yǎnguāng, lái kàndài yǔ héngliáng zhè shìshàng de shìwù?'

115President Oaks’s answer begins with greater faith in Jesus Christ as our loving Savior.

115Wū kèsī huìzhǎng de dá'àn, kāitóu biàn shuō yào duì yēsū jīdū yǒu gèng dà de xìnxīn, jiāng tā shì wéi wǒmen cí'ài de jiù zhǔ.

116That leads us to seek forgiveness every day and to remember Him every day by keeping His commandments.

116Zhèyàng zuò huì yǐndǎo wǒmen měitiān xúnqiú kuānshù, bìng jízhe měitiān zūnshǒu tā de jiè mìng lái jìdé tā.

117That greater faith in Jesus Christ comes as we feast daily on His word.

117Dāng wǒmen měitiān bǎo xiǎng tā de huàyǔ, jiù huì duì yēsū jīdū yǒu gèng dà de xìnxīn.

118-124

118The hymn “More Holiness Give Me” suggests a way to pray for help in becoming more holy.

118Shèng shī `shǐ wǒ gèngjiā shèngjié'zé shì jiànyì, yǐ dǎogào qíqiú bāngzhù de fāngshì, lái shǐ zìjǐ biàn dé gèngjiā shèngjié.

119The author wisely suggests that the holiness we seek is a gift from a loving God, granted over time, after all we can do.

119Zuòzhě hěn yǒu zhìhuì dìdiǎn chū wǒmen suǒ xúnqiú de shèngjié, shì láizì cí'ài zhī shén de yī xiàng ēncì, huì zài wǒmen jìnlì ér wéi hòu, rì fù yī rì cì gěi wǒmen.

120You remember the last verse:

120Gèwèi jìdé tā zuìhòu yīduàn de gēcí:

121More purity give me, More strength to o’ercome, More freedom from earth-stains,More longing for home. More fit for the kingdom, More used would I be, More blessed and holy—More, Savior, like thee.

121Shǐ wǒ gèngjiā qīngbái, gèng néng zhànshèng dí; gèng yù tuōlí súshì, gèng niàn lǎo jiālǐ; gèng pèi jìnrù tiānguó, gèngjiā yǒuyòng chù; méng fú gèngjiā shèngjié, gèng xiàng jiù zhǔ mí.

122Whatever our personal circumstance, wherever we may be on the covenant path home, may our prayers for greater holiness be answered.

122Bùlùn wǒmen gèrén de qíngkuàng rúhé, zài fǎnhuí tiān jiā zhè tiáo shèng yuē de dàolù shàngshēn chǔ hé de, yuàn wǒmen néng gèngjiā shèngjié de zhège qíqiú dōu dédào huíyīng.

123I know that as our petition is granted, our happiness will increase.

123Wǒ zhīdào yīdàn wǒmen de qǐngqiú méng dé yìngyǔn, wǒmen bì huì yuè lái yuè xìngfú.

124It may come slowly, but it will come.

124Xìngfú suī kěnéng huì màn man lái dào, dàn zhōng huì lái dào.

125-130

125I have that assurance from a loving Heavenly Father and His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ.

125Wǒ yǐ cóng cí'ài de tiān fù hé tā de àizǐ yēsū jīdū dédào nàyàng de bǎozhèng.

126I testify that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, that President Russell M. Nelson is our living prophet today.

126Wǒ yào jiànzhèng, yuē sè·sī mì shì shén de xiānzhī, luósù·nà'ěrxùn huìzhǎng shì wǒmen jīnrì huózhe de xiānzhī.

127God the Father lives and loves us.

127Fù shén huózhe, tā ài wǒmen.

128He wants us to come home to Him in families.

128Tā xīwàng wǒmen yǐ jiātíng de xíngshì huí jiā, huí dào tā shēnbiān.

129Our loving Savior invites us to follow Him on our journey there.

129Wǒmen cí'ài de jiù zhǔ yāoqǐng wǒmen, zài fǎnhuí tiān jiā de lǚchéng zhòng yào gēnsuí tā.

130They have prepared the way. In the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen.

130Tāmen yǐ yùbèile nà dàolù, fèng yēsū jīdū de shèngmíng, āmen.
