  • 本句的語意分析，有 3 個句子。
    1. Maybe he could use a friend like you.
    2. You could show him (something).
    3. He could treat others with love.
  • 我們可以用文法的「不定詞構句」將 3 個句子連結成 1 個句子。
    1. 由於第 2 句的主詞 you，出現在第 1 句的句尾，所以可以將第 2 句改用不定詞構句，省略 that you could 而簡化為 to。
    2. 改用不定詞構句之後，連結第 1,2 句成為：Maybe he could use a friend like you to show him (something)。
    3. 更進一步，由於第 3 句的主詞 he，出現在第 2 句的句尾，所以可以將第 3 句改用不定詞構句，省略 he could 而簡化為 to。

  • 另外，我們也可以用文法的「子句構句」，可將 3 個句子連結成 1 個句子。

    2. 用從屬連接詞 that 將第 2 句改為從屬子句：that you could show him (something)
    3. 再用從屬連接詞 how 將第 3 句改為從屬子句：how he could treat others with love
    4. 用這樣的子句構句方法，將原來的 3 個句子全部連結在一起，成為 1 個句子： Maybe he could use a friend like you that you could show him how he could treat others with love.
  • 在此案例中，使用不定詞構句，比使用子句構句來得有效率。
